Judy Plomer Wins Jurors Award at 2009 "Art in the County" Juried Exhibition & Sale
Jurors shine spotlight on Prince Edward County Artists
Since its inception in 1993, ART IN THE COUNTY (AITC) has grown in scope and stature to become Eastern Ontario’s premier juried art exhibition and sale showcasing the highest quality works of art by Prince Edward County artists and artisans.
The jury consists of three Canadian art professionals. The final selection of art for the exhibition, drawn from the County’s abundant talent pool, is a result of a thoughtful process of jurying, bound by a collective approach to certain artistic criteria, and individual professional experience and refinement. Jurors are solely responsible for the content of the show and for choosing the five Jurors’ Choice Awards and five Honorable Mention Awards.
The jurors are consistently impressed by the high quality of works submitted in a variety of media to the show each year. “Such diversity speaks to the County’s active artistic community and to the level of creativity and professionalism of the artists.”
In 2009, artist Judy Plomer was named winner of a Jurors Award for her pastel titled “Poppy Passion”.
This year's Annual ART IN THE COUNTY Juried Exhibition and Sale is June 22nd 2018,... Details to Follow. Art from an impressive range of media will be showcased including paintings (oil, encaustic, watercolour and acrylic); and works in glass, fibre, metal, ceramics, pottery, mixed media, photography, wood, fabric and sculpture. All works are for sale. The People’s Choice Award is determined by visitor ballots and will be presented at the close of the exhibition.
